Early identification and management of patients with a chronic kidney disease (CKD) is of paramount importance to implement interventions aimed at slowing the progression of kidney disease and delaying the onset of its complications. Despite this, a comprehensive methodology for CKD screening among older adults, taking into account the numerous functional dimensions that CKD is able to impair, does not currently exist.
The 2nd Consortium Meeting of the SCOPE project has been held in Lodz (Poland), last 22nd -24th February 2016. The meeting has been a change to review all technical materials required for the SCOPE cohort study and to train the 20 investigators who will be in charge of recruiting and assessing the patients.
On Sunday May 22nd, 2016, 10:30 - 11:30 am, the first official press conference of the SCOPE project has been held at the Austrian Center of Vienna. The press conference, organized by WP6 leaders Prof. Gerhard Wirnsberg and Prof. Regina Roller-Wirnsberger (University of Graz), has been hosted within the context of the 53rd ERA-EDTA Congress (http://www.era-edta2016.org/en-US/home).
